Managing your mail with Gmail

Gmail is a great application many people are now using to manage all their email accounts. You can have gmail collect and send mail from your domain email account (like you@yourdomain.com) very easily. You will need your username and password, and of course, this setup will not work until your site goes live.

After your site is live, log in to your gmail account and do the following:

Go to Settings
Click Accounts and Import
By Check mail using POP3, click Add POP3 email account.
When the Add a mail account you own window opens, enter your email address and click Next Step.
Enter your username (this is your FULL email address, such as you@yourdomain.com. Just entering the first part,"you", will not work!
Enter your password.
Your POP server is mail.yourdomain.com. You can leave the Port at 110.
Do NOT check "Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server." If you do, your mailbox will overflow and stop working.
In most cases, you can leave the checkbox settings at the default setting.
Click Add Account.
If all goes well, you should get confirmation that the account has been added. Leave "Yes, I want to be able to send mail as you@yourdomain.com" selected. Click Next Step.
Enter the name you want to people to see on the mail you send out and click Next Step.
In most cases, you can leave "Send through Gmail" selected. Click Next Step.
Tell Gmail to verify your email address.
Gmail should send you a confirmation message. Follow the instructions, and you're good to go.

To send email using your you@yourdomain.com account, click Compose mail in Gmail. In your new message, select that account from the From dropdown list.

Please note that we do not support Gmail -- we like it a lot, but we don't support it. We'll be happy to help you with it, but we will need to bill you for that time.
